What is a POIUYT?

Besides being a string of letters on your keyboard,
a “POIUYT” appeared on the cover of MAD #93 March 1965.
MAD loved this optical illusion and it appeared in a few issues after this cover.
Norman Mingo illustrated the cover and signed his name backwards.
